Managing All Over The World

Hello and welcome to the next post in my European Alphabet Challenge. I have now finished off the job the previous manager of HJK didn’t do, and as the season runs over the course of 1 calender year, it will be a slight change to my seasons. However this post will be brief as I was only there for a short period of time.

So my first run of results in Finland were ok, but not great for a club that’s meant to be the best in its country. We had 4 losses, 2 draws, and the rest were all wins. You can also see we won the Finnish Cup Final!!!!! This means that I now have 1 of 3 Finnish trophies required to move on, and I’ve only just arrived. If I am to win the league, it’s clear I need to solidify the side a bit more to avoid losses to weaker sides.

So we ended up finishing 6th, which is poor overall, but decent considering where I picked it up from. The Cup success also granted us Europa League action for the 2028 season, however it will be half way through the domestic season before the qualifiers arrive.

So a convincing 3-0 win meant we lifted the Finnish Cup, not only granting us Europe, but also helping me get 1 third of the way out of here.
